Looking into my (hair's) future

i just learned that maxine on rush st. (chicago) has a l'oreal hair bar. you can sit at the counter and pick out your color and even try it on. i will definately be paying the bar a visit but i have a feeling that the "try on" will be akin to holding a dress up in front of you and looking in the mirror.

NBC makes me proud to be an american

i didn't have a clue that the olympics were coming up until a month ago when a VF article, about that Fiat guy's sex/drug scandal, briefly mentioned torino. so i am completely suprised and delighted to be so into it. i am (happily) crying over bobsled races, properly using terms like podium and clean short, and seriously considering spending 150 bucks for the USA roots vest. if you need help pretending you are there check out the torino tracker, NBC's blog.
